Process

Having day-traded bitcoin and some crypto for several years I decided to combine my personal and professional life by pursuing a career in designing investment and trading systems. Having been an observer and participant in the community I came to the role with a good foundation in user understanding.

I first developed archetypes/personas for the fiat onramp app from my experience observing and talking to communities. I then started further UX research to perform deep interviews on the personas identified.

I then worked with the development and product team to create journeys through many workshops, trying to build frictionless flows from the touchpoints of their needs through our app to the goal they needed to achieve.

Next was several rounds of usability testing which was performed via a selected partner who could find traders to work with, as well as using social media to find willing participants.

We incorporated session replay and worked closely with a data engineer to further observe and optimise the platform experiences as well as create an in-depth user engagement plan based on scoring different investment and trading competencies in sign-up flows, developed through user research.

User Engagement

I worked closely with the metrics and user engagement platforms to build and track marketing campaigns and also score traders based on their knowledge and experience, tailoring the solution to them and allowing them to opt into customisation.

Landing Pages

I worked on creating on compelling landing pages for the launch campaign where we enticed a waiting list of over 50,000 users for the tokenised securities exchange
